He's got some triton 5.1 cans, and they sound amazing, deep bass and crystal clear vocals and high end. But for £200+ they ought to be.
He let me test both headsets, and while the triton has the edge, the Sony headset is a LOT cheaper, but they dont sound it. The Sony cans lack the bass but they actually sound better across the mid to high range. They're also only 7.1 VIRTUAL not actual, so they lack in that department too.

Movies sound clear as a bell, again, stereo only.
Die Hard 4
This one sounded amazing, lacking the bass though the explosions did come across as a little weak, but for everything else in the movie, I could hear a pin drop and every little nuonce (I know I miss spelled it).

Overall movies do sound nice, but actioners will want a bit more punch.
Games:
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Game will work in 7.1 virtual audio, and if you, like me, enjoy 5.1 audio and deep bass, you'll probably hate the stereo output.
Switch to 7.1 and the re-creation is actually quite faithful and fairly accurate. I'm looking forward to BF3 with this headset.
PC:
I thought I'd give it a try, thinking that sony use a propietry USB controller, it probably wont work. I was dead wrong.
Windows 7 installed the correct drivers instantly, and it was no trouble getting them to work with just a couple of clicks.
Again they lack bass, but winamp does have an equalizer built in, and thus remedies that problem instantly.

Overall:
Good crystal clear audio, loud enough to keep even me (now deaf!) very happy.
Poor Bass.
Works with windows 7 out of the box
Excellent Microphone for voice chat, both in game and XMB.
completely indipendent volume control for in game audio and voice.
7.1 surround (games only)
I paid $85 for this headset and it was a good buy, but if you like more power to your bass, then you'll probably be dissapointed.
