They released a patch recently and it brought in micro transactions.
It is a blatent rip off!
Let me just quickly tell u that, in game, you can earn isk from mining/missions etc etc, it costs 370million isk for 30 days pilot license (AKA gametime) - it's easy enough to earn, however you can also buy it for real money at $14 per month.
So baring that in mind..
They have introduced a new currency called aur which is 1x plex for 3,500 aur.
You can spend this on silly clothing, that no-one else will see because umm.. your in a spaceship?
so the prices for a virtual monocle or a pair of trousers can cost 3,500-6,000 aur.. that's 2 months of gametime or $29 ! lmfao...
Because people are buying it and selling it at silly prices, you can now expect a pair of trousers to cost 2billion isk.. which in real money is about $60-$70 - can you see why people are mad?
so people have been kicking up a bit of a fuss..

So just don't buy clothes? LOL
If the developers have given people the opportunity to be retards, surely they can't be blamed if people seize that opportunity?

Did you read the article lol?
A leaked document also shows they plan to sell skill points, ships and other things which has took players years to work for and basically it will ruin the game. (not just about the vanity items) , so all those players who have played for several years and trained for certain things can now be bought with cash instead, it's fail
But at the same time.. you know, they must have gone for MT's for some reason...

I had a play of the tutorial last night... damn it's complicated.
I was hoping for something more like the old CBM64/BBC B
elite by David Brabben/Ian Bell
Wishful thinking I guess.

You've got lots of options

Yeah I read, but I still don't get the problem (although I don't play it so...)
Surely it's no different to when they release an "unlock all the cars" DLC for NFS of Split/Second? The guys that have earned them will be obvious because they have the skills to go with them...
From a business point of view, MTs make a lot of sense. Especially with Dust in development. Dev teams aren't cheap, and there's a recession on. It's probably a case of MTs or bust.
