Where were you when:

Something significant happened?
Sept 11 2001
I was at work (PCWorld), one of the lads from the stock room came over and told us a plane had crashed into the first tower, then a few minutes later he came back and told us another plane had hit the other tower and the first thoughts were terrorism.
We tried to get on the BBC news website, but by this time it was getting hammered, so we gave up on the internet, grabbed the TV from the training room and plugged it into the only place that had an ariel socket... the tech dept (my bench actually). There we watched every shocking scene, soon the entire sales team and management team came over to watch. Within the hour they weren't needed, the store was empty, and we only had a handful uf customers for the rest of the day.
Some people even cried, especially when you could see people jumping from the windows. But no one turned away.
So where were you and how did you see it?
I'll also leave you with this, on this day in history:
1993 - The Branch-Davidian’s compound in Waco, TX, burned to the ground. It was the end of a 51-day standoff between the cult and U.S. federal agents. 86 people were killed including 17 children. Nine of the Branch Davidians escaped the fire.
