i didnt realise until a few days ago that redecorating my living room would have drastic consequences on my gaming, read on....

a few months back the colour scheme in my living room was a sort of "dark beige/terracotta" i had white blinds and white curtains, on sunny days i could shut both and play on with no glare affecting the tv

however i have since had a lighter colour applied and had lighter carpets

now its like the fucking sun is sat in my back garden even with the curtains shut =)) even though i may have time to play through the day WEATHER STOPS PLAY! if its too bright i cant play :)) ill have to be a night owl in the summer and actually get outside

Get dark curtains and help build a contrasting colour scheme.
It might also help wth your gaming of course, and thats whats most important after all.

You dont need darker anything.

You have a couple of choices.
Look at Blackout Blinds, As they are normally only on a roller, they are very discreet and you would only ever see it when you pull them down.

Look at Blackout curtains, Specially made ones for the purpose.

Or a cheaper option is to look at the same colour / style curtains just alot Heavier in material, So it would block on the light more

same here pud, the sun sets on the back of my house so it gets really bright.
Even dark blinds don't help in that light, i had to move my tv to the corner to stop alot of reflection, as it is quite annoying.
