I thought I'd share some minor tweaks you can make to the excellent PS3 Media Server.
Change the default green play icon, and the display name on the PS3:

1. Open C:\Program Files\PS3 Media Server\pms.jar with WinRAR.
2. From within WinRAR open the resources folder and extract PMS.xml (keep WinRAR open).
3. Open your extracted PMS.xml with notepad and enter the name for your server inside the <friendlyName> and </friendlyName> tags.
4. Save the PMS.xml
5. Within WinRAR, select "Add" from the top toolbar and navigate to your customized PMS.xml
6. Add a custom icon to the images folder - the file must be 256x256 png and it must be called Play1Hot_256.png
7. Exit WinRAR.
8. Test your work

It's also possible to change the default icons within the PS3 media server main window too.
The default icons can be found in the resource/images/clients folder.


If you're wondering why my version looks different to the stable version, it's because I'm running the beta. It works for me, it might not work for you.

a collection of icons, some media related, some not, it's up to you what icons you want.

Dunno, but if you spill a drink on in you can consider it prestiged and start again
