Apparently the game is very arcadey and quite unlike the trailer would have us believe...
What if Angry Birds was really an advertisement to promote a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds? It would still be an amazing game, but it wouldn't have anything to do with that movie. Would that make any sense? It's an extreme example, but a lesser form of that bait-and-switch is happening with Dead Island.
If that trailer was Gameplay and not a rendered trailer!!

I think it'll be while before we get real time graphics that can look as good as this trailer. Not this gen, not the next, maybe the one after?

I don't think anyone expects the game to look like the trailer by a long shot. But the trailer sets a very dark, sombre and classy tone. Then the game is just the zombie equivalent of Bulletstorm from what I can gather. Which is a shame. I would be interested in a chilling or horrific zombie game. I'm not interest in a Left4Dead/Dead Rising hybrid for the ADD generation.
