My brand new 3D TV and PS3 Gaming

Well it finally arrived - Delivery day.
I was up at 6:30am expecting a phone call from argos telling me what time it'll arrive.
Chris and I had spent an hour yesterday demolishing a portion of my desk, rebuilding and re-strengthening it. I needed it too.
Fucking hell this TV is heavy. But then again it is a 50" plasma, and plasma's are heavy anyway.
My previous TV was a 42" LG and it was nice too, nice and BIG!
This thing is like a monolith from 2001, it's enormous. Turn it on it's side (portrait) and it'd look like one too. It's very black and sleek.
So anyway, I suppose you dont care about all that, you want to know how it performs in 3D? How the hell would I know, the glasses keep getting stolen from me. I mean, I only bought the damn thing right?
So what's it like when I do get some glasses?
First game:
Flight control HD
I guess you all know the game, so there's no need to tell you about it, I just need to let you know about the 3D effect.
It's nothing short of jaw dropping.
There are multiple layers of 3D'ness, different aircraft fly at different altitudes, and thats a feature that is replicated with this game. But not just with the game, the menu's also have different depths too.
I liked this game before 3D, now I can see I'll love it more.
Wipeout HD
I guess this is the review you'll most likely want to hear about.
Well, I was dissappointed, the 3D effect isn't that major, it's there, it works, and it looks good, but it's not amazing. It is nice, just not all up in your face like you just clocked a bouncers mate on a Saturday night.
I tried to take a screenshot too, but it still renders it in 2D (I think), I'll have to experiment a little more.
Black Ops
Main Menu - It looks nice, there's a good depth to it (shame about the game though) and a nice look.
Overall the effect is done quite well, but zooming down the scope is harder as it blurs the iron sights slightly. So it will make the game harder to play, I assume you'll get used to this over time.
So far overall I'm impressed, and so I should be, I've only had the TV for an hour or just over. The depth is impressive but there are some problems, and they could be deal breakers.
1. Ghosting is definately there, in games and movies. It's like the LCD blurring/ghosting on fast moving images, only in 3D they are there when the image is static too, not always and not always noticeable. But definately there.
2. fast moving scenes create some tearing, its not a smooth 30fps or 60fps, it's like it's slightly slower and it's noticable.
I've really got to admit that had I seen these issues in the store I probably will have still bought a 3D Tv, but thats me. I'm also new to plasma TV's, so I cant really say if these problems are there in these TV's in general, I've only ever had LCD screens.
But there is another and very very significant positive.
This TV does pseudo 3D or 2D to 3D conversion, and it does it so fast that there is little or no input/controller lag.
I tried BFBC2 and I only played for a few minutes, but I was laughing out loud so many times. The barrel of a tank when it swings around is just unbelievable, it's something you have to see and experience.
Dynamic Themes look fantastic.
XMB is amazing
Music Visuals were made for this.
It'll take time to get used to the negatives, and I think somepeople probably never will, but it's early days yet, in a year or two I'm sure all these problems will have vanished and we'll be left with crystal clear 3D.
