Never thought of this before till i read the eu forum trohy section.

Why do game devs include online trophies anyway for a plat?
Not everyone goes online, they all don't have the net.

Some people choose not to go online and some maybe are to young to go online (strict parents etc)

I agree sy and i think its bollocks, its unfair on those who choose not to or cannot go online, its unusual of course that most people wouldnt purchase a ps3 or 360 to go online with but still penalising them is a bit harsh

I suppose the question on that would be Would the trophies work without net?
As they need syncing to your profile?
To Sync you need to go online?

True point. But most people do have the internet right? However fast or slow.
I dont know anyone without internet.Even my Grandad has wifi :/

and with the world only having a population of something like 6 billion
that more than 2/3rd's of the worlds population has a Internet Connection

You don't need to sign in to PSN to enjoy trophies, unless you want to show them off.

Online trophies are added by the Devil as he dances through the office on milestone submission days sprinkling random bugs into the build.

They're just there to piss people off and/or laugh in the face of people that bought a game that sank online. Dead Space 2 has no online trophies despite having a pretty decent multiplayer component - and I applaud them for it.
