3D TV from Currys

I called currys main callcenter today and asked them to find me the Samsung TV that I wanted.
There's none in Halifax, leeds, or bradford, but there's 5 in Huddersfield.
I asked them to reserve it for me, no problem, here's your reservation number... Thanks.
Ran out the door, drove the 45minutes to huddersfield, went upto a sales advisor, gave him my reservation number, and he said immediately that they dont have any.
I spoke to the store manager who said they've NEVER had that many in stock.
OK, fine, what other 3D tellys do you have at that price point.
10 minutes of searching and .... NONE!
We have one thats £1199.00 but we will not discount it and it's not in stock here, but they have some back in Halifax.
I argued that the service was appalling, I've commited nearly 2 hours of my time on a promise that a TV would be here for me, petrol, and my patience with Curry's in general.
I also tried dropping the name of the Area Manager to see if that would help, nope, nada zip.
In the end I thanked the manager for a wasted afternoon and told him he was "a complete waste of fucking space and I'm not surprised DSG is struggling to stay open".

I will never cross the threshold of a DSG store ever again.
By far the worst service I've ever recieved from DSG.
I'm so glad that when I worked a PCworld, at least we WERE proffessional.

I went into a Curry's once looking for some sort of plug adapter. I asked the guy, he said "no, we don't stock them".

I said "ok, ta", turned around to walk out and they were on a rack right in front of me.

Retards.

afraid ive never had good service from anyone at DSG group, even in PC world, ive been barred from my local PC world more times than i remember from saving members of the public from buying over priced tat, and also was asked to leave a currys when an argument about a gold scart cable and gold HDMI cable got out of hand, that wasnt my fault the store member got rather irate.

i told him to set up two tvs that were identical and lets settle it here and now, he declined. :XD

to be fair Dazo im surprised that you were surprised the service was so shite, i dont expect good service from any of these massive chain places now, except john lewis's.

although we have BIG problems with the halfords website at the moment, basically its fucking useless and says we have 20 of everything when we dont.

I'm not surprised, just appalled.
Not only didn't they care, they didn't even know what TV's they had WITHOUT looking at a repos terminal.
I'm sorry, but if that happened back in my day, they would both have had their arses handed to them.
But also back in the day, we were paid quite well, good commissions, good bonuses, good wages. My next door neighbour works in my local currys and he says the wages are diabolical, barely above minumum wage, and they have bonus targets that are completely unreachable. He's a sales manager and with all the overtime he puts in, he (says) he gets just over £7.00 ph, the overtime is unpaid.

It's not surprising the turnover of staff there and the complete absence of knowledge. No one is there long enough to learn any thing but the repos terminals.

I've being saying it for years, DSG is going down.
