IGN managed to go hands on with the glasses free 3D headset display from Sony. Interestingly, it reportedly works rather well with the right angles! The journalist claims it offered the clearest 3D viewing he has seen to date. BUT, yes there is a but... the but is that it won't take off because Sony is having a hard time getting people to wear 3D glasses let alone something like this.

Did anyone try the original VR Headset?
I had the opportunity many years ago, I felt sick, tired and drunk after just 2 minutes.
I think I'll give these a miss.

This technology has been around for ages, but has never taken off because our eyes just aren't designed to focus on something that close for any length of time.

Exactly.
You can focus easily at 10 inches or more, but any closer does cause eyestrain.
Unless you pilot an apache gunship.
