What is it? I've not heard of it at all?
It sounds like Red Dawn (which the remake is awaiting release) for Australia.

It certainly sounds promising, looks promising, and the score on IMDB says it should be promising.

Always give everything a chance.

Without killing the movie for other people. here is my feedback

Rating 5.5/10

Its got a Great Idea.
Story line is well done out.
Has alot more potential

Alot of bad acting (But in other parts its well done)
ITS ONE OF THEM FILMS I HATE
Reviews and Trailer are very badley guided.

Watching the trailer i get the impression there is a bunch of students / teens out to save the world / county

So very far off. Well from the FIlms point of view.

It starts of giving a little info on all the main actors in the film.
then sets the scene in the camp site.
Then shows the invasion / war
then shows them trying to blow up the bridge to stop them getting any more units in.

Then the film ends......
And it shows like 3 months later a 10 second clip with loads of guns.

My misses loved the film, And i do see why.

But its the type of film i hate.

You set a story.
And the Plot kicks off.
The story ends.

The whole plot was to do with an invasion.
There is no Explanation to it. Why it happened nor Confirmed who it was invading.
The end of the film the invasion was happening and they where still looking for them.

Fair enough it leaves it open for another one.
but lacks somewhat infomration.

Yer its based on a Book,
Go and read that for more info.

but i dont expect to watch a film and then have to read a book or the net for answers.

Only a small portion of films do this and its my pet hate in movies.

Dave chill, it's the first in a series, there are 7 books in total, so no doubt 2 more films at least.

I have literally just finished watching it my self, and sure some of it is pretty hammy, but overall I thinks it's quite good, and does show a lot of promise.

Those sorts of films are ok - as long as they do well enough to get a sequel. Else you just wasted your money (if it cost you money that is ;)

There's no release date yet for Red Dawn 2011, I just hope it's as good as the 80's version.
