The general consensus on ea forums for this, is that battlefield bad company is:
= small map orientated.
- upped bullet damage (moh style)
- 1 map with vehicles
- out of bounds areas in rush and conquest
- tanks are overpowered
- huey helicopter is a flying cardboard box.
- weapon recoil same as moh (hardly any)
- rush maps seem to favour defense due to some out of bounds areas
- spawn protection (you can't go near enemy base)
- no destruction 2.0 (not all bad though i guess)
- feels cod-like.
--
this doesn't seem like a battlefield game/expansion to me.
After watching vids, it looks alright but some of the weapons/recoil/handling looks like copy pasta from moh..
not sure if i'll buy actually.
not really heard any good comments apart from the enviroments look nice, but again small.

I'm more concerned about the maps!
We have had enough cod-like maps in vanilla.

Decided to get it but there are probs only 2 decent maps in this, operation hastings and phu bai valley, the others look coddy and cramped.
We'll see, try it and then comment, but i'll be fucked playing cod maps, we have enough of that on what is now codfield already.
Where the big heavy metal/harvest day like maps!

To be fair, Vietnam is always going to be about cramped fighting because it just was that kind of war. No much in the way on huge pitched battles - more dirty guerilla fighting.

first impression...
Its good, the maps i have played (All of them) are pretty decent - apart from coa san temple because it is nothing but linear straight line chokepoint.
Huey pwns ass, dont know why people complain about them, they are probs just shitty pilots.
Tanks are powerful, weapons seem ok.
It's a good job i don't listen to much to forum and twitter trolls.
I had to try it for myself and i am glad i did/am.

I'm finding several maps on both Rush and Squad Rush are very attack/defence orientated, very much like MoH.
Attackers are funneled down one or two very narrow routes, meaning the defenders are just shooting fish in a barrel.
Same for some attacking maps. Defenders get slaughtered.
The Weapons are fine though, no overkill on any particular setup.
But there's a problem with class setups, it wont save between Vietnam and BFBC2 vanilla, and sometimes even vietnam class changes mean you have to select your perks all over again. Very annoying.
I think the choppers are too easy to shoot down, and you can't repair them internally if you are an engineer.
Lag seems to be an issue (surprise!), it's fine if you go lone wolf, but as a squad of 2 or more, it struggles to find a local server. But thats nothing new, it's been like that since BFBC1.
Overall, it's meh, nothing really amazing. Just new maps, models, weapons, vehicles, and problems.

Is it worth a tenner? Personally no. It's no more than a glorified map pack with some bolt on stuff. But Sy/Dave will probably disagree as he'll no doubt get more out of it than I will.
16 guests=mostly bots.
