PlayTV Update

I knew there was a new update coming to PlayTV, I knew that it add's series link, I knew that it added a chat feature.
I mean come on, a chat box while watching TV? How pants is that idea?
To be honest, it's not... it's freaky just how good it is.
I've obviously just bought the update, and while it's not really bit - 88mb, it damn near requires a complete re-setup of the entire PlayTV system. This doesn't take long, about 3-4 minutes, so no big deal, but it WILL DELETE any programmes you have recorded. You dont have to re-setup-up the whole thing, but I'm glad I did, it gave me a shed load more options to play with. Including online presence, you should now be able to see what TV programme I'm watching.
So anyways, whats this chat TV about?
It's not anything like text chat on PSN, it's like being on a website chatroom and watching TV in the same window, only everyone is watching the same TV programme.
So it's exactly that, you can (text) chat with friends while watching PlayTV, while it might no be everyones cup of tea, it's actually worth trying regardless. I did and now I'm hooked. While you can watch and chat with friends, you can also chat with strangers who are watching exactly the same TV programme. I watched Deal or No Deal for 5 minutes and the chatroom was buzzing madly. It was crazy. I can only imagine what it's going to be like when topgear returns or there's an intense episode of Corry (NO I DONT WATCH THAT SHIT! I do watch topgear though).
I've got to say that I didn't think watching TV and chatting would work, but it does, it really does. I love it.

Since Sky added the series link it's been so easy to literally fire and forget. All you then do is go back and watch all the recordings. Now I thought PlayTV might have a hard time with this when there are so many 'effin' repeats, so I went to the TV guide, found TopGear and hit series link. WoW, not only did it work nearly instantaneously, it even made sure the repeats were not selected. I like it.
Definately worth a few quid for this update.
Right, I'm off to watch a bit of Dave or Dave ja vu, and to chat.
