The Mess Hall

as some of you may know im working in Halfords P/T i agreed to just do 7 hours sunday with the manager and any other time they can chuck at me as long as im notified as i may be otherwise engaged in interviews etc on free days

i got a call today asking if i could work the coming monday which i cant as im in an interview but was then told that they had me down for tomorrow as well, which i hadnt agreed to, i told the lad who called who i get on with i couldnt do it as no one had asked me and i already have something booked, i do my MOT and the mobile tyre fitting discussed elsewhere. its a shame because i would have liked the money but thats how it goes im not going in without the car.

im just a bit worried now ill be in bother for not coming in tomorrow, i dont see how as like i said i wasnt asked and havnt been in since monday so how am i to know? and i am contracted down for 7 hours sunday

depends wether or not you signed a flexible working agreement when you started. if so, its your own responsibility to check your hours...my place says to me i shouldve phoned up etc if i havent been in.

just hope for your sake you get on well with your manager, if its your first time they should be alright with it....wouldn't worry to much if i were you, just drops them a line tomorrow morning explaining the situation. At the end of the day its better to let them know than leaving them in the dark.
