Is PSN getting too expensive?

I was looking at a couple of games that have recently been released and decided NOT to buy.
When PSN was new, a lot of games were £3.99 or £4.99 and you could get 2 for a tenner, now though it's 2 for £15.00 or more.
There are so many new games that are priced at £7.99 or £9.99 that they have become unaffordable, but are they worth it? I don't know because there also no demo.
Sky Fighter by Tikgames-Creat Studio is £7.99
space invaders by Square Enix is £7.99
Tumble By Sony Europe is £7.99
Monkey Island 1&2 is £11.99
Worms Armageddon is £11.99
It's not that the games aren't worth the asking price, they probably are, it's a matter of whether I'll enjoy them enough to make them worth the asking price, and all the games listed are by developers that have an excellent track record.
While a few of the have demo's, not all of them do, and thats the point when making a purchase, can you live with a game after buying it that you don't like and didn't get a chance to play BEFORE you handed over your virtual cash?

Agree 190%
I done the BETA for the new Worms Game, Amazing!! Loved it,
Could not wait to get the full version,
Seen it on PSN, like what!!!!! £11.99 or something stupid like that,
As much as i love the game, i aint letting them get the upperhand of my paying STUPID amounts for a game.
I would go upto maybe 7 or 8 as i know how good it is, but 12 nicker!! ffs sony!!
but yet, prices are stupid!!

I think the prices are in keeping with the rising development costs. Since Wipeout and Warhawk, developers have realised they need to put a little extra effort in, and so the cost goes up.
But the rising costs will end up hurting them, because it goes above the psycological "disposable" barrier, where it becomes an investment rather than just throwing a few quid away on a game, and if it's crap, so what?
Not having a demo equals no sale for me these days though. I take it to mean that they have no faith in their product.

Have you also noticed that some of the more popular and better games have gone up in price too?
I know Sony, the developers and the publishers need to make a profit, but retail games never go up in price after a month or two, they come down in price.

Fair cop, you got me there, and I agree fully.
But is'nt it better to sell 1000 copies at £5.00 than 500 @ £7.99

I think my barrier is far lower than most, but I'd rather waste £4.99 on a bad game than spend £10.00 on a great one. Only because I cant tell if the £10.00 is good or not.

how many times have we seen demo's of games that tanked? Quite a few and therefore the relationship is cemented. Likewise for games that suck and you still dont get a demo.

Yeah but if there's a demo, then it's my conscious decision to waste my money. I'm not taking a gamble.

Dissapointed with team 17... they are a self digital publisher.. there game shouldn't be 12 pounds, it's alot of a money for agame you play once in a while.
Personally psn is creeping up in price, u know this year more digital was sold so far than retail.
Why do they need to make prices so big, when they complain retail is the reason things creep up.. doesnt make sense.
