Very Expensive though at nearly 60€ plus P&P.
All it is is perspex, and some luminous string and an inverter.
You could get the lot and make it yourself for £20 MAX! Probably as little as a tenner.
I used to do a lot of PC case modding, and the perspex is as little as a fiver, and the string is around £5-£10
Still, it does look nice.

Just bought the acrylic shelf, 6mm x 310mm x 320mm for my slim.
At a whopping £6.00!
All I need now is the EL tape/wire/LED's
Now thats the expensive part, a driver (inverter) can cost as much as £20 on it's own.

Does anyone know of any sites where I might be able to get some EL wire/tape/LED strips about 30cm long with USB power?
I've searced for about an hour now with only one success, and thats too damned expensive - nearly £50, but the good thing is that I can make 3 for that price.

After looking at the above image, I decided to drive to maplins and get some led's. Pack of 5 @ £1.25 and use an old USB cable instead. Time to get this plan into action.

I tried the LED's and wow... what a disappointment, they're pathetic.
But they did tell me that 5v LED's are crap. I could try 3v but that complicates things.
I also tried to bend the acrylic, but because I did'nt have a flat surface and a constant amount of heat applied to all areas all the time, it's er... a bit wavey.
But I found a company close by who do heat bending, laser cutting, etching, diamond polishing etc, and their acrylic is cheaper then odyssey glass. But their services are expensive and they only mass produce.
I did see at maplins, some home build kits, one that caught my eye was a sound activated controller, but it has 4 red LED's and they all flash together, plus the kit can't be modded. So I either buy a new PCB and build and design it so I can have 4 different colour LED's and they flash in sequence or randomly, or I just go for a single LED permanently lit.
Ah well, time to give up I think.

Hmmmmmm
perspex Can be located easy enough, if you know someone who is going to school, or your friends of a teacher or something, they all have them big ass units your talking about, used them before when i was in school.
Get yourself a PCB, They easy enough to configure for Sequenced flashing,
a few Resistor, a Transistor, IC and a Capacitor and well your LED's
Powered by a USB lead..
If i could honestly be assed i would make one,
I have too much going on and i find am lacking the motivation when i get home to do anything at the minute, hence the PS3 time lol
If you need someone to do the board
i can do that for you,
if you really wona go crazy!!!! i also have some equipment for programming :wow:
If you want to go full out and go very complex have a look at SPICE (Although i don't think its available to the Joe public, i got it off a friend who was doing a degree, may be on torrent if not i can find my copy somewhere)
If you have no heard of it, it is a circuit simulator, and have been a life saver for me the limited times i have used / needed it
Maybe when i actually sort me shit out and get a grip of shit and life i might give it ago
