The game session you were invited to is no longer valid ???
I had no problem with invites last night, and neither did a lot of other people.
But after doing a fair bit of googling, it seems that the whole World is having trouble.
It's almost certainly a server issue, as servers cant handle all the extra invite packets as well as match making.

Hopefully it'll be fixed by installing more servers, just like battlefield 1943.
It should be fixed soon if thats the case.

I've noticed that a few friends have actually been playing thanks to the inbuilt leaderboards.
But when I look at my friends list in XMB, they've been offline for over 20hours.
Now there was some small maintenence with PSN today, and I'm now wondering if its that thats the cause of invites not working.

One possible solution is to join a friends session, you wont always be on the same team, but at least you can join friends.
To do this, wait for them to be in a party or game, then hit the PS button, goto friend, and then TRIANGE, and select join session.


Good news though, there might well be a patch by Friday this week, thanks to Astro for the heads up.

Well this would explain why I couldn't connect to RV last night

Funny thing is Al, it worked fine until around 5am.

i thought the other patch was to put in a option to play or not to play the airport misssion and caused issues with invites and trphies now?

anyways.. i could join ppl, then it just completely stopped workin after about 7pm lol

The patch has come, and it's now VERY VERY BROKEN.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE PATCH!!!!!!!!!
If you do, DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PS3.
If you do download and turn off your ps3, you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SIGN IN TO PSN.
It maybe a permanent problem too, if you cant sign in, you cant repatch.


Potential fix, delete the game data and patch, dont delete the save game.
Reinstall, but dont down load the patch.

I like many others are hearing strange noises coming from my PS3's Bluray drive, and at £130 to fix, I just cant afford it. So please RT before we are all left with a dead drive.

How to fix the INVITES
Delete the friend then add the friend, then invite.
Trust me, it works.

Another way
Invite friend
Friend goes offline
friend comes online.
friend accepts invite
Done!

It seems MW2 is a bug infested game

My main concern with MW2 is that the disk is almost constantly accessing. This is going to kill your drive quicker than you can say "new patch?"... Does it do this online too? I've only played a couple of hours and forgot to notice.
