During Gamescom, Sony announced that PlayStation Home’s core client will be getting an upgrade this fall.

PlayStation Home v1.3 will include universal game launching which will allow you to launch into any PS3 game directly from Home. The games that allow this will be designated by its own icon over an avatar’s head, with varying degrees of multiplayer functionality.

A new in-store item previewing option will be made available so that you can try on clothes in 3D; this applies to furniture as well. Portable objects -like the Bubble Machine- will be made available to the community and everyone will get free cameras can snap pictures from either a 1st or 3rd person view.

Loads of other updates are heading to Home as well, and you will notice that your avatars will have additional emotes including two new action emotes.

A SingStar space is coming as well, and it looks like a “swanky night club-esque SingStar-themed game space”.

Errr...ok. Contradictory much? lol

I got invited to the Home beta and it proved to be as pointless as I always thought it would be. Not worth the HDD space IMO.
