The Mess Hall

From the Moment i Walked onto the battlefield i was amazed, by the sound, Quality and atmosphere. The gun selections couldn't have been more accurate to do with the year. I started my first gun not having a clue got killed a couple of times, then got the hang of it within minutes of playing, I think its all my practice on Cod WaW or just the fact that everyone are noobs lol.

Infantry
Tbh with you i don't like this Class. The gun runs out of bullets too quickly and its not that accurate. Although this is a classic WW2 gun it still does the job.

Rifleman
I Love this Class its good in CQC (Close Quarter Combat) with its bayonet and its long range with some slight recoil which make for a difficult gun to use. Rifle Grenades are a very effective weapon especially up close, they can blow up a plane in two shots.

Sniper
This is my favorite class. The sniper is super accurate and can get headshots very easily, and do alot of damage.
The pistol is not so great the clip is very small and hardly does any damage. but wheres the MOTION SENSORS? lol. the C4 is fun to use but have a massive explosion so get ready to step back before detonating it.

Planes
Wow this is a let down :TT_TT: way too hard and way to sensitive. being a heli pilot in bfbc i was really looking forward to being a plane pilot but tbh i cant be bothered to kill myself tying to learn.

what do you think.

I'll be downloading it tomorrow after work. Looking forward to flying the planes, but I've heard there's no inverted controls. I hope there's an option to have inverted controls for flying.

There's a tutorial in the help category on the option screen so I think I'll be using that during the 30min trial before buying it.

thers deffo inverted its how i play land sea and air all have there own invert options

I love it. This game is highly addictive. Loved the games with you guys last night even though I was against you all for most of it.

Sym spoiled my special moment though of which I finally got in a plane and just took off and was trying to get used to it but unfortunatly much to my displeasure, Sym, who was on the opposite team was already airborn and shot me down :we_all_gonna_die:

Same here - he even whored me as I tried to take off from the carrier too :beaten:

I spent a while in the tutorial learning to fly planes, and they are actually really easy to fly, but they are fucking hard to hit anything on the ground with. Although I did get a headshot on some guy running across the side of a hill which was pretty sweet. In a plane make sure you a) don't release the throttle unless you are trying a tight turn and b) try and keep the horizon or some other reference point in view at all times, else you may find that when you thought you were flying upwards, you're actually falling backwards in a stall.

As I learnt yesterday, spending the entire game in a plane earns you pretty much fuck all points. IMO planes are good when:

* Sym is not in one on the other team
* The game has just started and the map has carriers - you can kick the shit out of all the landing craft from the opposite team. Watch out for AA fire though.
* The other team has a lot of people and/or a lot of planes.
* The other team has control of the air raid thingy.
* And best of all: planes make great taxis to forgotten flags.


As for the rest of the game, it's great. It's refreshing to play an FPS that simulates a sunny day. Man am I sick of grey and/or brown. And the shooting mechanic is as satisfying as CoD4 was when I first played that i.e. it only takes a few bullets to kill, so generally, if you see them first, they're fucked. Which is great when you take on a hunter role.

A couple of niggles though:

* Textures glitch - there appears to be a memory out-of-bounds write somewhere or dirty cache issues, because after a while, some textures will corrupt slightly (e.g. solid lines appear on transparent edges).

* Clipping glitch - it's fair enough given what it's trying to render, but now and then the pre-render clipping is a bit too severe and I get a black square at the edge of the screen briefly.

* Clipping makes planes even harder - a number of times I died needlessly in a plane because a sniper tower or other obstacle appeared out of no where when I was on a strafing run.

* Tanks are fucking useless against exposed infantry. Even using the chain gun the driver has access to. I haven't had much success shooting down planes with them yet either. But then tanks have never been my forté in Battlefield games (except the hover tank in 2142 - that ruled).

* Promotions don't unlock anything.

EDIT: * Sometimes, when you're chasing another plane near the map boundaries, the little red plane icon will freeze in place as the plane flies off, which is really confusing as it makes you think the dude has bailed out. But once you're aware of it it's no biggie. Just "stay on target, stay on target" and switch off your targetting computer

I have finally Got the hang of the planes now, i wouldn't say im at the level Sy in at in a plane but im not far behind.
