I put my ps3 into a DMZ, then in network settings, I disabled uPNP
Now it works brilliantly.

thats exactly how mine is, ie in dmz with upnp on router disabled and it dont work

Dont disable upnp on your router.

i have to disable upnp on router because of my voip phone

Oi!!!!!!! Its 100% since i have redone my network and set everyone on Statis addresses! lolol

You dont need DMZ or UpNp or w/e it is, you can do it just using the firewall and port fowarding,

Allthough i did not do it the correct way will all the correct posts, i set all TCP and all UDP to foward to my PS3 Address,
(Not the most sencible thing, but it worked)
Anyway after flashing my router with some Custome Firmware, i have a little more control over it now,
and dont use the firewall, DMZ i use online and works fine

why go to the trouble of port forwarding, then setup your ps3 in a DMZ?
It has exactly the same effect, but all ports are open.

Seddon, why not just port forward your voip?

Because i like to keep my port fowarding clean,

And the fact when i flashed it with different firmware i lost it all

i do but some of the ports conflict with those that need forwarding for the ps3, thats why ps3 in dmz

it may just be upnp that is problem but its only bfbc that is the problem with squad invites

Also remember, if you DMZ your PS3, you must assign it a static IP in your router, otherwise next time you turn it on, there's a chance it will not be in DMZ anymore.

And whether UPnP is enabled or not on your router, you should disable on the PS3 for safety.

does wired make a difference?

A wired connection is better than wireless. Wireless will drop more packets than wired. Especially if you put your microwave between your router and PS3 lol.

Although for whatever reason, Resistance 2 doesn't work on wired but does on wireless (WTF is that about), hence me running wirelessly.

Really depends on your router. The best advice I can give is to Google...

It will more than likely involve going into your router settings via a PC/internet browser, assigning a static IP to your PS3 then telling the router to put that IP outside the firewall.

That probably sounds scarey if you don't know what it means, but it really isn't that bad with a little help from Google.
