Dave it's sweet. Hopefully I'll have enough people on my list tonight to get a good private game going, but even 3v3 is good fun. Hopefully we'll see Daz online too (if he hasn't broken his thumbs lol).

We had some good laughs last night. Finally got enough people on my friends list to have a decent private match. If Dave and Daz get on it would have been 6v6?

Highlights of the evening were Pud rage quitting over a plasma cannon. Especially as I caught him using one himself, but when he fired it at me, it just fell on the ground 5 yards in front of him like a limp cock

We have to never let that Diamond guy host again. He's crap at it. I mean seriously, how hard is it to choose the next map and start the fucking game? Then get a drink while it's loading...

Shame we couldn't stick with the Mess Hall all on the same team, but it would have been unbalanced to the point of people quitting. I'd rather have good games that everyone enjoys than own for a couple then be stuck with not enough players. Plus Hrok and Winny are mates from IL2 and both fairly new to Space Marine.

Maybe next time we'll have Mess Hall, Hrok and Winny versus the gob shites and Americans... That could work well. And I could rape Diamond with my double-perked plasma cannon

yeah im still not apologising for the rage quitting though, seems like 99% of the team were using the plasma cannon first match, just quit because of the unfairness mate, dont mind if i get killed properly, anyway lets forget about it because i know we both differ on the Plasma Cannon. Good Games though last night, had fun after it settled down

Yeah that diamond guy fucked up the sides alot, always switching to the winning team, it was only me u and pud that was willing to swop teams to even it up... i think he hated the killing blow i kept getting him with, he got me with a headshot at one point, after that i made sure i killed him alot, the immediate match after that i got 11 kills, 9 of them on him lmao!

He'd fire the cannon, i'd jetpack up - flashbang him and then smash him with the hammer LOL!.

That plasma cannon thing was lame as fuck though, especially since everyone used it at one point, even i switched to it on basilica.. payback n all that, i just randomly fired it and got a triple kill in a small corridor, it's OP really...i reckon it'll get nerfed.

Some good games though overall, it would of been better if i didn't have to keep capturing the points on my own most of the time, my team was always dead, lol.

i got a nice triple kill with my hammer though on states, diamond and hrok on capture point c at manufactorum though + revenge kill and saviour and shit loads of armour unlocks hehe.

I don't remember everyone using plasma cannon... maybe I should have joined the party. Or maybe you should have fought fire with fire?

If they nerf it, it will render it useless. If it's not a one hit kill charged up, why bother? And they should also nerf melee weapons, and especially the hammer + killing blow perk as well.

And maybe melta gun? After all, the melta gun is just like running around with a charged plasma cannon without the drawback of having to manage the heat and no splash. But then it lacks the range, although it doesn't kill the user if they get jumped by an assault. So where do you draw the line?

If someone is using the plasma cannon, engage them at extremely long range or extremely short range. However, if someone comes at you with a hammer + killing blow, you better pray you have a mate nearby.

I'm not going to pretend that it takes as much skill to use the plasma cannon as it does to be effective with the hammer, but both weapons, in the hands of players skilled in their use, are ridiculous. It just so happens that the learning curve for the cannon is shallower.

Someone posted some great wisdom on the official forums: "if your think something is overpowered, play with it and find it's short comings".

Just because you got a triple kill in a corridoor one time Sy, doesn't mean you can do that match after match. Truth be told, that triple kill was probably 3 assault that just ganked a team mate. Which is equally fucking annoying.

Wow - I totally didn't mean to write this much, but it pisses me off when people cry about the plasma cannon but are happy to run around with hammers or melta guns.

If they were that overpowered, surely everyone would be using them all the time? Just because they shut down your favourite strategy doesn't make them OP. It makes them annoying, maybe. But they have counters - namely the Stalker bolter and Lascannon. Or assault.

If you get killed by a plasma cannon at more than 20 or 30 yards when you were looking, you fully deserve it
