yeah alot of patching this week, not really sure why.
I had alot of issues last night, freezing, dc'ed, then when i dc'ed it asked me to download another patch.

I think they are getting ready for the dlc coming soon.. who knows lol.

Every time I try to load this piece of shit up I have to download several thousand megabytes of bollocks. What a waste of hard disk space. Five times I've tried to create a character but just had to leave it over night instead...

Also, what are the controls? I get that L1 is target lock (toggle or hold?), L2/R2 are quick powers and square/triangle are attacks, and L3 is movement mode, but what does everything else do?

As a flier, X seems to be some sort of half-arsed version of L3...

evade is running around, rolling or blocking :)or sending me an invite to heal u and shield u using powers

I have auto target and switch [targets] with d pad if i need to,r1 is block, holding r1 and tapping the anoluge stick like dark souls kick will make u roll on dc, umm what else do u need to know on it?

l3 activates the actual movement mode (flying, superspeed etc) x controls the flight height if ya not got the current unlocks.. there are 2 movement unlocks to get so pressing it again activates even faster movement.

A new free game update is available for DC Universe Online, and this one adds "Research and Development." If that doesn't ring any bells, just imagine "crafting." Heroes and villains in the free-to-play MMO can now create new items and mods to "socket" them into existing gear to make an unmatched arsenal.

This stat-boosting option is available at Level 10 and includes...

Finding and Researching: Plans to create Equipment Mods to upgrade gear and consumables can be collected throughout the world.

Gathering: Throughout the open world (including Gotham City, Metropolis and Central City), players (1-30) can find exobytes and other items.

Salvaging: Players can turn unused, uncommon or rare items into crafting materials, and they can recover a rare item and create a useful piece of new equipment.

Collecting: Bosses will drop useful ingredients such as Focusing Elements and Plans throughout the game.

yeah got round to this today/last night whatever u wanna call 6:30am lol.

Crafting is quite simple yet confusing, but got there in the end, nice to upgrade armour for extra bonuses, i also re-specced my character and went back to healer with lightning powers, woot..

The server though is over populated with one sided factions (heroes) there are alot of them compared to villains.. anyone starting the game now from scratch is going to have a hard time levelling...at least with no help anyway.

Go to a hero safehouse outside you can see maybe 100-200 people.
Go to a villain club.. 20 or 30.. heroes are stacking up..and i'm all on my own..having to heal myself to shit when i get ganked. ugh.

Lighning powers are good, maybe a little OP imo.. the healing is insane you can tick hot's for 500 each lol, i am pure heal build now so i have mediocre dps and suffered a combat rating drop due to changing armours for healer role

You lot should play.. it's a pain in the arse to download and get patched orginally but worth it in the end.

Oh yea earlier i was running around collecting mats for crafting and bumped into a hero.. suprise! anyway lol.. fucking tank or what... i could out heal his damage but i just couldn't mitigate through his pvp stats, he must have had some insane bonuses from armour upgrades, i can't say i have ever seen a tank take all the shit i threw at him and just basically stand there and look like i was flicking him lol.

I couldn't get his life to go down much at all.. i debuffed his tank for some nice shots, but yeah he was a toughie, in the end we both just stood there and did "thumbs up" emote and left, lol

I couldn't damage him enough and he couldn't kill me because i was healer whoring, so... yeah..

Had an awesome time in this today, won alot of pvp arenas thanks to being matched with teams who are like minded and stay in groups to benefit from everyones buffs, nearly got maself 120marks of conquest!! woot lol.

Did all the endgame duo's aswell and some side missions/alerts - earned myself 2 new armour pieces..in a day..

Strapped for cash on it though, now the cash is imporatnt for buying mods for armour and so on..it soon goes... but yeah it's been good.

My new powers are pretty decent, i took on 2 level 30's and 3 level 6's all at the same time, i healed myself pretty good, i killed them all aswell........... mind u i inspected 1 of the level 30's and he was new.. all green armours (trash) basically.

Then if you get bored of fighting i can just go and explore looking for exobites which you can use to upgrade and salvage etc, for crafting.. it's pretty addictive all at your own pace in an open world, woot, woot.

I am just trying to make a better combat rating as i took a drop switching power set and havin' different armours for different powers, but i'll get back to my 45-49 to go back into raids again.
