well folks i got the new tv! pretty snazzy these smart tv's youtube and bbc iplayer run lovely on it HD freeview is quite nice too shame there are only 4 channels 
the really cool thing is if i plug in a USB HDD or a memory stick it can use them as a PVR!
one thing i wasn't impressed with was the sound on my PS3 going titsup. chris knows how much fun i had with this. booted up BF3 sound mostly coming from right speaker, eh? tried a few more games, same thing, messed with tv settings couldnt find a cause. in the end i thought i wonder if its the audio settings going through HDMI, so checked it out and i picked everything going, stereo 5.1, 7.1 etc lol, that didnt fix it so i paid more attention to the list why do i need 5.1? thats what it was picking automatically alongside the usual 2 channel stereo.
unchecked everything but 2 channel stereo options, sorted everthing working fine! that would have been annoying if it had been the tv, i started to think it was bf3 at first but a bit of fault finding found the issue. having those logic 3 speakers redundo for gaming would have been a ball ache.
