Yep, they are a couple of tree-hugging fucktards. This guy is obviously a 40k geek, but his enthusiasm is infectious. I lol'd at "you are a dumbarse in the name of the Emperor"

You got actual codes? I thought they were physical things... I got the same email, but couldn't see codes. Probably doesn't help that ShopTo's site is messy as fuck...

Yeah mine did too apparently. And my headset arrived yesterday. And Sy told me how to get the code :)

All good.

I'm interested to see how well the MP works, because all the PC lot are moaning that it's really laggy (in some instances), and all the usual PC gamer bullshit about no dedicated servers, game destroyed thanks to consoles, Relic turned it's back on PCs, wah wah wah.

So far here are my impressions

Single Player: just as fun as the demo only more so cause its full fat :D i found myself grinning at one point when i charge headlong into a ork hoard slashing and hacking, that didnt happen during the demo, surely a good sign so far no bugs or complaints but ive got to the Jetpack section from the demo and put it down for the day, i dont want to finish it in one day. my only complaint so far is do the orks only know a few words

GOIT THEM SPOICE MORINES :))

Multiplater

first attempt at a TDM took AGES to get into a game teams ended up reasonably balanced one a few lost a few, its not fast paced you have to pick your engagements if you can and people are not soft it can take an entire boltar mag to kill an opponent, melee kills are my main gripe, it turns into a bash the mele button at close range eventually, not all blows connect and ive been slashed from about 3 feet away. and some games were horrifically laggy but so far the norm, quite chunky and satisfying, if at least 4 of us got into a party im sure we would dominate.

capture the flag mode seems to be where its at not only do you earn XP for kills but also for attack and defence.

looking forward to the coop when its released.

Nice heads up, thanks :)

I imagine it's quite refreshing to not get one-hit-killed for a change. It seems the online trend is for OHKs or near-as-dammit.

Did you ever play Transformer: War for Cybertron? I'm wondering how similar it is to that...

And yeah - melee is always a pain online. That's why I don't play Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat or whatever. And it was a problem in Demon's Souls and it was a problem in Transformers.

And we all know what a problem it can be in CoD... (I'm not mentioning BF because it's a different kettle of fish having dedicated servers, which mitigates the problem to a degree).

its actually quite similar but the melee is much more finely tuned, empty boltar into ork hord > charge > fine red mist...

My thoughts after an evening with it...

Single player - as good (so far) as the demo. I've only got past the jetpack bit from the demo, but not encountered any chaos yet.

Multi-player - great fun, but a bit of an uphill struggle through the first few ranks (as usual in games that reward you with beef).

Match-making - absolute DOG SHIT.

Customisation - sweetness.

Platinumability - unlikely. Way too much grinding. Especially if the matchmaking never gets fixed.

Overall - 9/10 (but early days yet)

yeah i was telling sy yesterday on BC2 that the matchmaking is a game breaker at this point in time, i was waiting 20 mins for a game to start, no way to back out either had to quit the game to XMB needs sorting pronto

update i seen you joined the official forum Infintes =))
