MOH sells 1.5million in 5 days:
Electronic Arts Inc., announced today that Medal of Honor has claimed the #1 chart position in the UK according to official GfK-ChartTrack data. In just five days since launching in the U.S. and with just two days of sales in Europe and Asia, the game has already sold through more than 1.5M units. EA also announced that the first-person shooter will expand with the release of an all-new explosive multiplayer mode on November 2, 2010. The free* multiplayer mode titled Clean Sweep is an elimination mode where players must rely on their own skill and teammates’ expertise to prevail as the winning team. This exhilarating mode is playable across two all-new maps (Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves) as well as redesigned versions of the popular Diwagal Camp and Kabul City Ruins maps. Clean Sweep will be available on November 2 via Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network to owners of Medal of Honor with Online Pass.
1.4 million returned/traded already, 99,999 are playing SP only and one person likes the online.

In all honesty, I've seen some people post that they do like it, but those really are few and far between. Most hate it, and given DICE's fanbase, it will probably effect BF3 sales, unless the demo/beta proves otherwise.
Is it just me or are BF games getting worse with every game?
BF2 nigh on perfect
2142 good but not quite BF2
BFBC1 great but not as good as it could have been, and very buggy.
BFBC2 no where near as good as BFBC1
MOH appalling in every respect.

It's the same trend Big Brother followed (if you liked it), and Modern Warfare is following. It's what happens when people who make a good product fail to understand what it is that makes it good.Dazbobaby wrote:Is it just me or are BF games getting worse with every game?

On the other hand, you have people like Criterion, who know why their shit's good and so can just build on it with each iteration.

BF2 was basically perfect, maybe because this game introduced the squad system we see in many games and unlock/progression systems.
2142 did improve but i think the "future space type" of game it was put many people off.
After bf2, the bf series just got watered down as it went along.
Going backwards whilst trying to add "scopes" or "specs" to change it a little - similar to cod.
Bf has gone now in the direction of infantry and they throw in the vehicles asif they are some sort of add in and the maps don't seem to be built around the vehicles, more plopped on after they have been built.
I reckon bf3 will go back to the bfbc1 destruction rather than this full destruction to ensure somesort of better player count..maybe 32 or 40.

Traded in at blockbuster for £20. Fuck the platinum this game is fucking shite.
1.5million copies sold, 1.4 million pissed off customers = epic fail.
If black ops is shite, I'm selling up.
I'll keep the PS3 with the faulty bluray and use it as a media center only.

LOL WTF dude? You can't blame the PS3 for shitty cross-platform mass-market churned out bile... Just make more selective purchasesDazbobaby wrote:...If black ops is shite, I'm selling up.

I think the problem is that I'm desperate for a decent FPS game, and the last one was BFBC1. I spent almost as much time playing that as I did 2142.
Since then they've all been a bit shite, sure BFBC2 was ok, but thats all it was... just OK.
But it's not like theres a huge amount of choice.

Selling your PS3 isn't really the solution though is it?
Especially not with Rage, Deus Ex and Killzone 3 just around the corner...

I never liked Deus-Ex and I hate Killzone controls.
For me the last really great FPS was 2142, before that it was Black Hawk Down, but for the PS3 - BFBC1.
I like my FPS games to feel and look a certain way.

well i handed my copy in today to blockbuster, it was rental ya rly.
anyhoo id tell most people to give it a swerve they are not missing anything the only standout moments were for me bombing the shit out of the taliban attacking bagram, holding out in a hut agaisnt the taliban and getting saved by apaches and your death at the end
i suppose in a way danger close tried to convey the sense of brotherhood in the game that military personell feel in real life and getting surrounded by your buds in your dying moments maybe that was it?
ah well onwards and upwards ill be renting Black Ops i will even venture online, im sure ill get bummed by some ghillie suited NV goggle wearing TA reject who sits at home dissesembling his air rifle in the dark hoora!
