After playing for a few days i have come to the conclusion that there are about 3 different type of players...

You have the rusher, who will rush you pretty quickly and cause enough damage to slow you down with a bombardment of small tanks and constant plane/tank spam.

You have the turtle, who builds a base with powerful weapons and eventually becomes the "moving turtle" where they push you into a corner or dominate the half of the map with super crazy defense.

then you have the strategist, who bombards your base with tanks and cannons, whilst slipping in the back with paratroopers taking your base...

its all good.

our team tactic we use has been great, 6 win streak right now :)

Right fucked off with Play/Royal Mail, but I gave in and went and bought it from Game in town...

And think I could have waited, rather than potentially ending up with 2 copies. In my limited play time today, I don't think it's as good as EndWar. I don't really like the fact that you can pretty much see everything to some degree or other.

And also, I'm crap at the game - but is not really a surprise, as I generally am crap at RTS. But getting owned by hard AI on the campaign, and losing about 10 ranked online games in a row doesn't incline me to jump out of bed tomorrow and repeat the exercise.

The demo was better than the full game so far...

Yer its not an Easy game

Every move makes a count in this,
And me and sys got beaten for the first time yesterday,

Just need to step back and think of ways to hold the battle, for defence and attacking units,

:-) its good, and you will think better of it when you start getting your wins lol

Ai is hard though lol, even regular ai gives u trouble as they rush.

Also your units shouldn't be seen to much, are u using ruses? hiding them in ambush spots? citys/trees/villages/round mountains?

You'll get used to it once u can figure out which units are stronger and how to use the maps to your advantage.
Also you have a 6 day disadvantage to the us players and a 4 day to many uk players.. since play let u down..

I am not the best at this game, but i can hold out, it's not easy, every move plays a big part if you win/lose.

Yeah that post was the result of extended defeat and no sleep. I had a slightly better time today - got a 3 win streak and barely lost the fourth. The first game I decimated the guy, 1.2k vs 200 LOL.

I play as UK, but didn't realise that you could hide AA/AT in forests. And so far I haven't even used bombers, which is pretty retarded as UK. When the kids have gone to bed, I'm gonna see how effective they are, and go for some early base harassement...

I also didn't think to spam paratroopers for ambushes - I just used them to take supply depots to annoy the enemy. But stopped doing that as it was a waste and the enemy could just take them back for points and a 1/3 of the cost.

My biggest issue at the moment is artillery covered by AA, but I'm gonna use bombers to basically kill their production buildings before they can make them I think. Along with radio silence and decoy attacks.

Can you play 2v2 ranked with a friend, or do you have to play unranked with mates?

Still don't think it's as good as EndWar, but EndWar is very cool (airlifting = cool IMO), and I like the line-of-sight mechanic. But having said that, I'll be shoving the kids to bed early to get back on it.
:)

Yeah should get some unranked games on the go for fun.
DOnt think u can invite friends to ranked.

You can level up unranked too, for the custom matches.
I am level 19 on unranked i think, you know when you see plane spammers when they are rank 30 lol.

Anyway they are taking feedback and suggestions/bug reports..

had a game tonight.. 2vs2, stalemate for 45minutes.. then we managed to break in his base, captured a building or 5 .. score 1279 / 1287 something like that.. started rolling out prototype tanks from his base..time runs out.. "draw" so fucking lame :)

Hope they give ulimited for the unranked.

I had an unranked 2v2 last night with Sherbanator and we got stuck for a while too. We had obviously won quite early on because we had 75% of the map, but we just couldn't push across the river into their bases. So we sat in front of the river, peeking in with recon planes, and shelling fuck out of anything we could see.

If the remaining guy hadn't surrendered (I think his team mate quit quite soon), we probably would have been denied the win too.

By the way, Sherbanator said "that Sy and Dave are a couple of pussies - I bet we could take them"*. So how about it lads - "friendly" 2v2 later?
:) :ninja:

* he didn't really say that, I said I'd say that to get you riled up into accepting the challenge LOL

I'll be on about 10 if that's cool with everyone...? It's the bloody Gadget Show and Dragon's Den that the wife has to watch.
:yuush:

If it's not cool we can rain check until tomorrow, but I'd like to get some in tonight...

BTW I have to get up at 7 every day, since June - and it's still painful. Probably doesn't help that I go to bed at 1am LOL
