But I'm really here to post a sweet little tid-bit I just learned: apparently you can farm humanity from NPCs with the dark hand without aggroing them

Yeah. You get it from ranking up in the covenant we're trying to join after the 4 kings (costs 80 humanity to reach the rank) or it now drops from dark wraiths since 1.05.

If you equip it in the left hand, it makes that shield, but if you equip it in the right hand the R2 attack sucks humanity. Like the dark wraiths do to you when they try and grab you.

When you gunna give it a go Daz? we usually play about 9ish.

I might make a strength build tonight and get it past the Taurus demon, maybe even the Capra demon just so I can meet up with Daz in the early stages.

Started a new build strength/end/vit only.

Like ffs? got invaded at level 10 by someone who was able to use homing crystal soulmass?

Must of gone through the game with friends to get that far surely lol.

Either that or the invade level is fooked tonight.

Then i easily got to the maneaters/levelled to 21 and got invaded near the capra demon i mean really.. lol.. the guy had 2 elemental katanas.. i asked him his level he said 42......

In other news, some noobs invaded running around 2 handing straight sword hilt needless to say.. i practically beat him with my shield trolololol.

going for the big hamer build, onion armour and thats about it.
looking at about 50 strength and about 30 points into endurance.

already at approx 20 on end/str now.

Don't level too fast - the point of these new chars is to co-op with Daz

I got through the first few obsticles no problem. I didn't even bother to try and defeat the massive monser in the jail, I just ran like hell.

But I did get stuck on an undead guard with a sword and shield. Tried several times and I cannot get past him.

I also find the control system to be a bit finicky and complex.

Have you found that R3 target locks? And are you using a shield? I'd highly recommend a shield for your first play through. Block, counter attack, win

Also, if you block then get behind them, press R1 for a hugely damaging back stab.

yeah I found the dying knight and retrieved the sheild and sword. But I didn't know that R3 blocks!

Argh!

no daz.

Equip the shield in the left hand.
Use L1 to block with it.
Also make sure to equip any new weapons they are usually better.

R3 is lock on target, so you have a aim assist and don't lose the target.

Block with L1 then they will hit your shield.. when they hit it they get staggered and you can hit them a few times without being hit yourself.

I'm lv1 21 now, so i'll stay here.
You should have enough souls by the time you get to firelink to level up

Wonder how easy it is to farm this, I mean we did run through that area like 20 times the other night with each one turning out to be a Epic fail Drop rate must not be too good

After the patch, it doesn't do any damage, so it doesn't aggro NPCs (apparently). You can get one guaranteed by ranking up in the covenant.
