A slightly more reliable looking translation of the patch notes:
* Fixing magic/effects - Magic Shield, Strong Magic Shield, slow effect magics such as TWoP, Fog Ring, Iron Flesh
* Rebalancing elemental/scaling weapons
* Rebalancing Pyromancy magic
* Fixing matching/multiplayer
* Fixing how many souls a host receives once a boss has been beaten in multiplayer

- Certain bosses drop humanity/homeward bones
- Fixing the drop rate of certain extremely rare items

If they fix matchmaking and i'm guessing they might try and group similar levels together then yeah i'd like to try a new build too.

Deffo a strength build or maybe faith...
also ya +3 acensed flame scales with int @s.

That's where I was leaning too...probably faith, as every noob and his dog has a strength build with a ridiculous sword. Faith yields miracles, and some of those look badass...

Really? The strength of pyromancy is dictated by humanity... But it's getting nerfed anyway, from the look of it.

I have had a few Invaders as Strength,
But they have made there stats pretty equial
so there shit!!!!

Me i only have Vitality, Small Endurance, and like 40 and 40 Strength and dexterity :D

Fuck dexterity in this game - it's only good for bows and defence. I was going dexterity to start with, but pulled the plug at around 22. Wish I'd pulled it earlier so I could put more points into attunement TBH.

Yeah I saw that, but from the Wiki...
NOTE: Pyromancy damage is determined only by the spell and the power of the catalyst. Intelligence does not affect pyromancies directly. However when upgraded the flame catalyst can be made to scale with Intelligence with an S rating thus allowing Intelligence to start affecting the damage of the melee. This characteristic coupled with the fact that anyone can learn pyromancy makes it a widely used magic than anyone can benefit from.

More detailed patch info (that still isn't out)...
Magic Changes:
Pyro Glove nerfed from 270 to 230.
You can see resonance signs now.
Vow of Silence range increased.
Sorcery spell damage as a whole was slightly buffed, but Homing Soul Mass and other pursuit style spells were nerfed.
Magic Shield duration lowered to ~11 seconds.
Strong Magic Shield duration lowered to ~11 seconds. Invincibility removed. Effect on Stamina drastically reduced.
Tranquil Walk of Peace and other Slow duration reduced to ~10 secs. Effect supposedly changed from 100% encumberance to 50%. Rolling possible if your equip burden is lowered. Slowness is similar to swamp effect.
Iron Flesh effectiveness nerfed.
Invisible Body duration remains unchanged.


Status Changes:
Base Equipment Burden increased (~6-10 points)
Humanity Item drop rate increased from 10 to 210
Medium roll recovery faster? (unclear and unconfirmed)
Defensive bonuses gained via Humanity reduced. Other defensive bonuses remain unchanged.
Item discovery gained via Humanity improved. Capped at 20.

Equipment Changes:
Reported some weapon scaling gets improved at higher normal upgrades (+15 uchi dex scaling goes to A)
Some scaling reported as changing from A to S with higher upgrades
Normal upgrade path buffed by ~10%
Lightning path nerfed slightly (~5%)

Specific Gear Changes:
Grant scaling changed to Strength:B and Faith:A
Gold-hemmed nerfed, still can't be upgraded.
Dust skirt nerfed hard (streamlined to match the other pieces).
Silver Knights, Sun, Hollow Soldier's Shield and other medium shield stability nerfed to ~70 at max upgrades to improve Great Shield viability.
Crystal Ring Shield scaling drastically nerfed. Does around ~200 +-50
Dragon Greatsword buffed from 360 to 390.
Silver Knight's Sword lightning effect removed. Now enchantable.

Combat Changes:
Lock-on acquisition range increased.
Lock-on changing/switching got easier (more responsive).

Ring of Fog users can now be locked on.

PVE Changes:
Overall increase in souls gained (~2-2.5 times more)
Damage reduced on some mobs?
HP lowered on some mobs?
Reduced acquisition range on normal enemies.
Supposedly reduced poise on some enemies.
Bosses drop Humanity and Homeward Bones
Ghosts and Skeletons give souls now.
Twinkling Titanite drop rate improved.
Pyromancers in Catacombs drop Skull Lanterns.
Darkwraiths in New Londo drop Dark Hand.

Online Changes:
You can see resonance signs.
Some invasion restrictions possibly changed? Darkwraith upperlimit confirmed as unchanged.
Amount of souls the Master of the game gains changed.

You can hit Select to rate messages.

Covenant Changes:

Fixed a bug where feeding frampt a titanite stone then going over 99 resulted in having zero.
Fixed some specific map areas where you'd get stuck or be unable to progress.
Changed some english subtitles on the overseas port.

If you want to PvP troll, kill Gwynevere (and the other guy maybe?) and just hang out in Anor Londo when it's dark. People wearing the ring of that secret covenant will be pulled in... I've been trying for souvenirs of reprisal and keep getting trolled like that.

But I've had enough of trying to play fair now, so I'm gonna exploit the magic shield glitch and might even get my wisdom up enough to use the Tranquil Walk of Peace for extra dirtiness. I only need 3 more souvenirs anyway...

Ummm...what? I'm intrigued to know whatever you just found...

The strong magic shield basically makes you invulnerable to damage. You get knocked over and stuff, but you take no damage at all. Coupled with the ring that boosted sorcery duration, thats about 30 seconds of tanking :)

Apparently the patch is out? Or just about to come out?
The latest patch for From Software's masterpiece is available to US and PAL 360 and PS3 owners. In true Dark Souls style, what it gives with one hand - raising the base equipment burden stat and increasing item discovery via Humanity - it takes away with the other - reducing the effectiveness of the Pyro Glove and nerfing several items of equipment.

A number of changes to online play have also been made, meaning Cracked Eye Orbs are no longer consumed as a result of a failed invasion attempt and a bug that rendered some summon signs invisible has been rectified.

The full list, as translated from the Japanese patch release notes by Brett (twitch.tv/thebrett), is as follows.

Magic Changes:

Pyro Glove nerfed from 270 to 230.
You can see resonance signs now.

Dragon stat scaling buffed by 5-20% (20% at +5).

Specific Gear Changes:

Think states would want to start a new char aswell so we could all try co-op.
