nearly 12pm and Chris just sent me a message saying it's still installing!!!!

LMAO how many years in development? And still a release patch...

And it's a 45-50 minute install.

I don't begrudge a game an install period - the longer the better.
More install = more BluRay lifespan = good times.

Wonder what the patch was for?

I heard the last delay was so the game could be compiled using the 3.31 SDK (To stop the jailbreakers playing the game)


Really am tempted to order this now...

Been over an hour now and still havent raced....keeps trying to connect to the GT servers a every click you make.

connecting time = 5mins everytime.
servers have got to be offline atm then....

I'm tempted to buy it for the screenshots alone.
But I'm really getting back into wipeout.

before even starting the game

go to option - hardware - button assignments unless you want to be playing with the old PS1 controls (defaults)

also i'd recommend playing offline today, speeds up the whole process a major amount!!

The GT5 patch 1.01 details are scarce at the minute, but from what I can tell the game disc does NOT contain any online playability. So the patch adds that in.

God only knows why it was left out, possibly for reviewers so there are no match making problems for them to report, or possibly to prevent people who got the game very early (ie the French) wouldn't be able to play online and rule the leaderboards.

Who knows, not even the official site has any info.
