Organising matches and practises. I doesn't sound like much, but it is a lot of work. Especially if you're registered on a ladder site like GameBattles.

it's all well and good doing it when you are a new clan, but it's still hard work.
You have to source other clans to play against, arrange times and dates that are compatible, organise rosters and players for that match. You need to keep an eye on calendars, integrate match calenders with forums so everyone can see the times and dates.
Then when things get busy, say you have 30 players, all wanting a game, you might then have to arrange 2 matches a night, and make sure everyone gets a match as much as possible. You've got disputes to sort out that occur in game, pissed off players that did'nt get to play when they should have, matches get cancelled too, then you have to organize ladder events and competitions. You also have to take on new recruits and try them out. You need to train together every chance you get, so you are as prepared as you can be.

It really is too much work for one person, and usually takes a few, and that can cause problems too, with confilcting games.

I much prefer the idea that we play as if we were a clan, but not as a competative clan, and only friendlies.
Take SAS_Liam_NUFC for example, arrange a couple of games with them, or others we know.

Anyways enough from me, lets see a show of hands,
would you like to play for fun against other clans maybe once or twice a week?

I don't get home from work until 10pm during the week. If you are still playing at that time then I will join you online and just generally make things worse LOL. Weekends I can play anytime. I can't really commit to your team if you play 6pm - 9pm.

But I think the idea is good.

I have played against the BRITPAC boys on BFBC. Together they are good. But get 1 on their own = shite.

What the fuck?

Why cant a dedicated server cope with clans?
How hard would it be for a developer to program into the code, an extra menu or two where created clans can join - a leaderboard could be calculated, slots could be made possible for arranging matches.

I suppose what I'm saying is, why not have twotypes of multiplayer servers?
- normal ranked/unranked multiplayer
- clan ranked/unranked multiplayer

Am I being stupid, does this sound like too much work for someone like Guerilla / DICE?

why not have the abilty to rent servers? Extra income for the devs, and a clan gets a dedicated server of their own.???
I'm not sure how the clans work, we'll just have to wait and see, I'm sure mother666 did say there would be clan servers.

first one to unlock clan feature creates the clan adds everyone and if your on to play you play if your not your not no scheduals nothign along those line play with your friends/clan mates if there on even against randoms ive been in alot of clans and randoms are definatly a good way to practice to cause they are all on there own agenda and they are to hard to predict movement wise cause they don't work together..
the only time a clan becomes real work is when you get into game battles and such and thats when it does not become fun anymore.. basic clan features in all games now adys is just an easy way to always pay with all your friends and they are always on your team

but im up for whatever

considering invites for the clan have gone out, considering I sent a message on psn that the server was up, I'm surprised only a few joined, and I'm even more surprised that after just one game, some left.
And you lot want to be a clan?
Is this a joke?

Well, I knew there'd be problems running a clan, but if we cant even play together, whats the fucking point?

Thanks for the invite, I did join. Played a few games, it was good fun until it was 3 on 1. Thats WHY and WHEN I left. Still trying to rank up and needed the 'trauma surgeon' badge.

I just wasn't going to get it in a game with only 4 players - and so one sided at that. You fought like a lion mate, and you have the best KDR of the group.

I apologise unreservedly if I offended you in any way. I thought you set up the game that way, I don't know how it works - never tried to set up a game.

I have played some that are pistols only. So I thought you must have full control. Sorry again.

Hope you are not pissed off about it.

Clans are evil. They make friends argue. Lets just go back to how it was before and play from our friends lists when it's convenient. There is no need to fall out about this.

Daz put a lot of effort into the site and starting the clan. I say he did a great job. Clan is a bad idea though. People get pissed off if they ain't invited or if no one turns up.
