I cannot see the logic behind a Single Player game needing to patch so much.
I think that is poor development.
Any Single / Offline play should be tested to a point it can be released and not need any further downloads to make it work.
online play is another situation, i do think it is acceptable to release such patches,
If enough testing has gone into the offline play, They cannot sit on something that may take 6 months to a year in production before they can release it and start to sell any units.
So i do find it acceptable from a Online point, There is so many issues with ANY FPS, Glitches performance and so and and so on.
Once the game has been sent through its motions then they can iron out them online issues out for the official release date with a patch.
Looks back on PS1 days no online feature what would they do is a game didnt work, they would have 100,000 and 1,000,000 of people returning there game.

Does AC3 not have online? I suspect it might as they released that online version as a spin-off from 2...
