Jesus christ iD, let go of past glories and try and make something decent to deserve the hype everything you do gets.

Pud, you'll hate replaying doom, once you play it now, you'll realise these games should be left in the history books or as memories that once was, you'll spoil the memory lol.

Quake was fun. They should release that as a £10 PSN game.

Doom 1+2 were good, but that was nearly 20 years ago, it wont play as good today as it did back then, no way.

well since we lost some of the thread in the down time ill just update everyone who is still interested

I got Doom 3 bfg edition last week and have been playing it and the origional doom games as well

Doom 1 & 2
the graphics now do look shit when compared to newer games but ive always been fond of doom so im bit biased towards it, it looks good enough to enjoy the game, and the game is still great fun. controls are nice through a ps controller and its still massive fun circling a room strafing with a shotty you can still get pretty swamped by monsters and ive even jumped a few times at the odd surprise :D

Doom 3
more story driven than the originals a fair bit of interaction with the enviroment makes it more interesting, its more slower paced i find than most modern fps, then again im creeping around scared somethings gonna jump out and scare the crap out of me, which they do, yeah its scripted but its fun! the gunplay is ok, i miss having Aim down sights but this is old skool shooting stuff.

supposedly the graphics have been improved for this, well i never played the original so i cant comment, ive seen vids of it running on high spec systems and it looks good but for some reason on the ps3 peoples faces look pretty odd and angular. but i can forgive it that minor quibble

its under £30 folks so if you fancy a bit of nostalgia alongside something newer give it a go, i'd be more than happy to coop with you on either doom 1, 2 or 3 and even frag you a few times online :ymdevil:

I got my copy from PSN last Friday.
Doom 1:
It really is exactly the same as the first PC version. It's still a cracker of a game, good fun, even better with mates (still to be tested though).

Doom 2:
See Doom 1

Doom 3:
Never got into it on the PC, but the pace is more quake than Doom, hell it's even slower than quake. So Doom 3 doesn't do it for me.
Looks bloody awful in 3D

Anyone fancy a match online?
