College, I've thought about it many times, but the course/courses I want to do aren't available. Or I'd have to take numerous courses one at a time.

My idea is this, a collaborative effort from all students, to learn the art's that have been lost or forgotten by our generation.
I think over the years, modern lifestyles has made us forget or even ignore the ways our dad's used to just dig in and get things done. I'd like to learn all the things listed and more, but it'd be multiple course over long periods. What I'd like is one course for everything.

Gardening: Growing, sowing, threshing, and storing.
Electrical: Photovoltaics, wind generation, fabrication, maintenance.
Plumbing: Water sequestration, filtration, basic plumbing, water heating via solar, waste water.
Cooking: Solar ovens, building barbecue's, cooking safely, preparation.
Carpentry: planning and building, using tools no designed for the job in hand.

The idea is that no one person is the tutor, everyone learns from everyone. It's all about basic skills development, no theory, all practice. For bigger projects a tutor might be needed, but getting the help of a plumber, sparky, or a carpenter and gardener should be fairly easy.

So if someone in your area did run a course like this, would you be interested?

This sounds a lot like a hobby group of amateurs. Isn't that already available in your local community centre?

Even schools have off-hour classes like this which may or may not have a tutor/person in command.

Sadly Dwarf, no there's nothing like this in my area - that I know of.

Then I could suggest you poke around and let people fill in which on the list they're interested in. From that you could start your own group with the option that has most votes. Over time you could expand it and work on the other possible courses. If there's nothing like that available at this time, chances are there quite many people interested just not openly admitting.
