what a fucking mess.
nothing like the originals, ok so it has alot of team things to do like get through security together etc, but in all honesty.. u might aswell go and play the 90's renditions.

EA u messed it up, pure copy n paste from some crysis combat too.

I quite like it. It feels very much like Killzone 2, but with confusing HUD all over the place. I'm getting my head around the augmentations, and I'll definitely have another go later and see what the level cap is on the demo.

It sadly bears little relation to the Syndicate franchise, but as a shooter it does the job and seems to have high production values and polish.

Pre-ordered. Love it. I can't think of another 4 person co-op FPS to fill the niche.

Bastards - they put a level cap of 10 on the demo :(
I'm sitting at 83,000/25,000 XP...

EDIT: Nostalgia FTW :)

Ok, so obviously I like this and Sy doesn't, but I've been reading around for people's thoughts on it, and it seems only about 20% of people actually get it and like it.

So who else has tried it? And why do people not like it? I get the impression in some cases that the haters haven't even tried it and just hate because it's not what you'd expect/hope for from a game in the Syndicate franchise.

I turned my nose up at the concept originally simply because I loved Syndicate and Wars and didn't think the market needed yet another FPS, especially when it robs the strategy genre of a much needed and potentially great title. But I'm taking it on it's own merit, and if it can bring in some of the cool from the Syndicate franchise, that's just a bonus.

But of the people that have tried it but don't like it, is it because...
  • ...it's not Syndicate?
    ...it's just another FPS?
    ...the HUD is cluttered/too much/messy?
...it just throws you in without chance to find your feet?
    ...the graphics are too bland/generic/monochrome?
    ...the feel is too light/drifty/heavy/much?
    ...the linearity is there?
    ...the difficulty is too high/low?
    ...retarded team mates (again)?
...the cover system doesn't work/isn't there/shouldn't be there?
...the weapons are too limited/feel crap/sound crap/don't have enough ammo?
    ...the upgrades aren't obvious/deep/effective?
...Or something else?

I can sit and list why I do like it and personally can't wait for my pre-order to be honoured, but I'm more intersted in what is putting people off. It seems a very Marmite game for some reason, and I'm interested to know why.

I'm gonna post this on the EU forum as well, as I'm not expecting to get snowed under with replies here ;)

I thought the hud was awful it put me off tbh i had 2 games i think.
I am not a fan of the hud all over the place, shaking aswell.. know what i mean.. it's bad for my eyes.. i kinda squint to play it.

Just didn't feel like a game for me.. nto to say the game is shit, because it is only a demo but if you feel uncomfortable then it's never going to work for you.

No PvP in it for you to troll with either Sy ;)

Had my first bad game of this yesterday...put it on after some Dungeon Defenders for a couple of rounds before playing Deus Ex and got lumped in with a really laggy host. Plus a team who were all too concerned with being first to get the kills/chiprips like suicidal little point whore lemmings.

Glad that wasn't my first experience of the game, else I'd probably not have played it a second time.
