Yeah I know. But look on the bright side, if I'm wrong you will be pleasantly surprised, if I'm right then you won't be disappointed that the game is not what you expected. Win win.Astro wrote:You are quite the debbie downer well played.Killzone_Kid wrote:People who liked metro won't be playing agoraphobic maps like Caspian LOL. Well, BF3 is getting hyped out of proportion all over the place now as I'm watching it. I mean if it goes like this then people will expect no less then perfect launch in 5 days. Of course we all know this will not happen, not on consoles anyway. DICE has such a long history of fuck ups and non delivers that realistically it is not going to change with this 1 game.
Anyway, then gamestop is jumping on the bandwagon with this offer:
http://www.gamestop.co.uk/mw3for99p
This is like a fucking nuke into EA headquaters. If they do not deliver the flawless game in the 1st month it will shit all over their face. Also the offer is for consoles. This means flawless servers and no bugs....yeah.
In short mega hype + non deliver = shitstorm + gamestop way out = fucking disaster for EA...not to mention it will make MW3 sell through the roof.

EA make there profit from all the FPS fans buying BF3,then all the Call of Duty fags piss off when thats released.
simple, works well for both sides imo!
hardly going to affect sales for BF3, if not increase them.

First of all Chris MW3 is getting released after BF3 so it doesnt matter how laggy or non laggy it is, it matters for BF3 because people will get pissed off if it is laggy and will opt for trade off. Secondly, people trading BF3 for MW3 will create huge second hand market for BF3, and EA will be losing money. On top their pride will also be hurt, after all they told you BF3 is MW3 killer, so why people exchange it for MW3? Come on Chris you are smarter than this, why do I have to spell it?

Last time I checked Sy, second hand market was bad for business, so I don't know how EA won't be losing money. Not that they will sell less new copies they will also be forced to reduce the price.Symonator wrote:Chris is right, it won't effect anyone - certainly not EA.

but a 2nd hand game can't be played online anymore (newer games), so they don't really lose any money, you need the pass.Killzone_Kid wrote:Last time I checked Sy, second hand market was bad for business, so I don't know how EA won't be losing money. A 2nd hand game + pass will cost the same as buying it new near enough anyway.. so...
The whole deal is probably fabricated from the publisher, basically selling the online game twice.
This is why publishers and devs add "online passes" and "vip codes" now.. lol.. do u think they are that stupid ?
Gamstop takes the money for the second hand price and gives the publisher a small share, and the game company takes all the profit from the online pass.

So you think that this is a joint venture between EA and Gamestop? Because Gamestop will get screwed trying to sell second hand copies if you cannot play online without online pass at all and I don't think they are this stupid either. So if this is indeed joint venture why involve MW3? EA could have said, buy BF3 and if you do not like it return it within 1 month to Gamestop and we will refund you everything but 99p. Same deal only no MW3 involved.Symonator wrote:but a 2nd hand game can't be played online anymore (newer games), so they don't really lose any money, you need the pass.Killzone_Kid wrote:Last time I checked Sy, second hand market was bad for business, so I don't know how EA won't be losing money. No-one said it's a joint venture or agreement with each other, but they must be on some sort of term for it to work the way it is.
But what you are cutting out is this part.
A 2nd hand game is sold by gamestop, they take 80% of that profit and give 20% to EA.
The customer who bought it now needs to pay for an online pass which the game company (EA) take 100% of the profit and cut out that loss they made in the first place.
Which is also sold digitally, so no retailer required!
All in all EA get the money they wanted, gamestop got the money they wanted and it's a win win situation for those 2 parties.
It doesn't matter about the cod, it could be any game, it just happens it's mw3 because that is the next big game.
They did similar deals with black ops and red dead.
If mw3 was out today, they'd have another deal on, it's not about the game itself at all, it's just about the money and capitalising on it.
They know people will leave bf3 for mw3, but at that point they lose no MONEY because the next person who buys that 2nd hand game comes back into the circle of - 2nd hand game - pass needed - so they once again get money for the same game that was bought new.. lol.
It's quite easy.. if you hit the brakes on the negative train and realise this is all that is happening and this is how the business is done, you will begin to understand, it's a fact KK, it's how it works..always has done with these pass restrictions... no-one loses money with them, yet in previous years a 2nd hand game was free to play online, not anymore.
p.s
Even if EA got no money at all for the game traded in to gamestop they still make £10 on that game when someone buys the pass, in theory selling the main part of the game twice .... and anyway EA will of already made the orginal sale when it was new, so they already got that cash too, regardless of trading it in or not lol.
Same as gamestop, a new game looses them no money, i can't see why u don't get it lol.
