Probably the best TV Mini-Series ever made, and I think it's the highest ranking listing on IMDB at 9.6 I dont think there's anything higher.


Had this one bought by Chris for my birthday last year on Blu-Ray, even when the day arrives that blu-ray dies and is replaced... this will be upgraded too. Absolutely 'effin brilliant.

Sy Parrish leads a lonely life, operating a photo lab in a SavMart department store. He escapes his dreary reality through the family photos of Nancy Yorkin and her family. His admiration of the Yorkins becomes an obsession, as he fashions himself as Uncle Sy.



I watched this again last night, but i thought i would put it here.
I think it is quite a good storyline, especially when the "twist" happens because if you had not read anything about this film, when it finishes you would probably feel sorry for sy (robin williams).

Basically he wants a normal family life and can't have it, then he finds out the family's husband has cheated and goes out of his way to teach him a lesson.
You would initially think he was jealous of what he doesn't have, but in the end, you will see, it is not.

Very bad things:
I haven't seen this is years, and while it's not quite as good as when I first saw it, it's still funny, and Christian Slater is just so good at being bad.

Moon:
Sam Rockwell plays several clones of himself, brilliant idea and well executed.

GasHole:
Asks the question of why we dont have cars capable of 100mpg or even 1000mpg. Places the blame squarely on the oil cartels.
Good documentary with some fascinating archive footage and news clippings of a 5ton car that does 100mpg in the 50's.

Dog Soldiers:
A squad of british soldiers play wargames with a squad of special unit, only trouble is... werewolves intervene.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

8 Stars on IMDB, I guess I'm not the only one who likes it.

An origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

Just watched it and I loved it.
One to go and see when it hit's the UK.
This picture makes Caesar look evil, he's not.

I wont spoil it, but they're there and one of the lines did make me laugh out loud.

True Grit. Bloody amazing film I thought. Matt Daemon and Jeff Bridges as the main characters. With the Coen brothers directing and writing.

And Roger Deakins as the cinematographer, it's the icing on the cake!

So far it's absolutely riveting.
But it's also one of those TV shows I love to hate, why? Because I've just watched 20 episodes in 2 days and I still want more.

It's a little like Heroes but without the flashing backwards and forwards in time. But I think it might also be a little like Lost where it gets milked for all it's worth, I hope not, I do hope it has an ending that wraps everything up.

It's compulsive viewing though thats for sure.

Written by Stephen King, the stories take place in a town called Haven in Maine. Based on supernatural incidents, FBI Agent Audrey Parker must discover the who is causing the "troubles", and at the same time, try to decipher her own past.

I did manage to get it all working ... eventually.
But due to major network problems, I went back to OFW and have'nt touched CFW for ages.

But I stuff use thumbgen to create the titles ^ as seen above ^

I recently watched Unstoppable again and it's still awesome. I saw it randomly on the plane to Canada and it was the best of the bunch, but I saw it in Tescos for £8 the other day so bagged it.
