Internet based talk show idea

I watched the old movie "Pump up the volume" last night and it got me thinking about hosting my own talk show.
A little along the lines of Jeremy Vine, let people call in and voice their own opinion rather than lecturing.
It can be topical based on the days/weeks events and news.

I'd need to ask the caller a pertinent question or two from time to time.

Any thoughts?

I've no idea about how to go about this, Sy no longer hosts streaming radio, and no doubt for the first few (hundred?) shows I could probably do it on my own bandwidth.

Equipment?
A decent microphone.
a new skype/email account for people who want to contact the show that way.

And he runs his own Live Stream Shows 24/7
(Allthough he is only live for a few hours a day)

well I wouldn't be broadcasting at CD quality, it'd be 32kb to 64kbits
plus others can "relay" the show too. Although I'm not sure how relaying works. I just know it can be done.

I still have SAM2 broadcaster and its good for music and voice, so that should be enough to get started.
But what about recording? I'd need to record the show and create an RSS repository. I have no idea how to create an RSS feed.

what about a discussion we all have? all of us get connected up by comms PS3 chat skype whatever and discuss topics?

you can record all the shows via sam 2 anyway.

I think it's a great idea - put out like Talk Radio used to be before it changed to Talk Sport (I'm talking back in the late 90's) and the kind of pointless (but often amusing) shit they would talk about after midnight.

Basically like any chat radio (no music) you get on any GTA game.

You could be onto a winner.

Thats exactly what I was thinking about! But more focused debate rather than random stuff.

How to integrate skype into the mix though?

Need a test run to tweak stuff.

well for skype via sam u just record your sound card so anything going through sound will be recorded (so u wud need to mute window clicks/sounds) and it would pick up skype - thats one way.

OK Sam2 is running but not broadcasting, Shoutcast now requires authorisation hash keys FFS!

shoutcast is to make the broadcast public.
Sam is only a DJ/workstation.

I'm also not really interested in the HTML or PHP side, I dont care about song requests.
It's literally for live broadcasting.

the hash is for shoutcast dnas v2 (which has only just been released) u need to get dnas v1.95 - i asked what you were running it on, either linux or w32? if windows click the attachment.

but to support more than 10 listeners your net will be no good.. u will have to get a proper server.

yeah u can use sam directly but it inolves the html and php - bit complicated for you at the moment...so look at that another time.

what, no I'm not taking the piss, it's been about 6-7 years since I attempted to do this.

I cant even remember where to set the damned bitrates and what not.
