Martin Luther King assassination

I've just been watching a short documentary about the Dr Martin Luther King assassination. Now apparently a James Earl Ray escaped from a State Penitentiary, found his way to the hotel where MLK was staying, scouted the area for a safe area to take the shot. He then spent several hundred dollars on a rifle, scope, ammo and beer. Then waited in his room for the perfect shot.

He took the shot, killed Martin Luther King, picked everything up in his room, and ran. He was seen by a witness running from a boarding house, he was seen dropping a large bag in a shop doorway, then he continued to run to a white mustang and finally drove off at high speed.

The large bag contained a portable radio, 2 Schlitz (the beer that made milwakee famous), rifle ammo and a rifle.

James Earl Ray was captured when he was traveling from Belgium to England. His overall journey was enormous, from the moment he left the boarding house he drive to Atlanta, crossed over to Toronto, flew to England, flew to Lisbon Portugal, back to England, over to Belgium, then got caught on his way back.

Now I'm sure you're asking yourself the same questions as me. This is 1968, air travel is prohibitively expensive, how can an escaped convict afford all the tools to assassinate Dr. MLK, then fly all that way, and all within just days of escaping from jail?
Why would an ex-prisoner not drink his beer? After 7 years in jail surely he'd be gagging for a brew? I know I would be.
He's obviously a very smart and resourceful man, so why would he travel by means that massively increase his chances of getting caught? And why would he carry a gun when traveling to England?

It sounds like James Earl Ray was a CIA patsy, or was an innocent man who was framed.
It stinks.

ive another interesting thought, MLK probably did more for equality as a martyr than alive? of course i wish he wouldnt have been shot but how would today have been any different?

and while were on conspiracay theroies it would have been fun if the final part of COD black ops would have been you playing mason
