Is level 2 fucking impossible to beat or what? Are you just supposed farm level 1 until your like level 15 or something? The difficulty spike is insane. And not even from other levels - just from the previous 5 or so waves of the same level... Or maybe I'm just missing something.

I did try online which seems a good place to farm for XP. If voice comms work (or even if they don't, with Skype) it would be fun.

just tried it myself, it's easy enough until you get to the last wave then it's OMFG! gone in less than a minute.

currently farming like crazy on the first level.
I also tried the no towers challenge, medium then easy... then I read the recommended Hero level... 40! and thats for EASY FFS.

It's fucking mental this game, but man am I loving it.

Yeah I did it with a squad, piss easy. But solo it's solid...it's fine until the final wave then even grunts go for one hit kills to taking 5 or 6.

I guess just playing online and farming XP is maybe what they were going for.

just had another go and that ogre is a bastard, 7,000 hit points or whatever... FFS.
All the others are a piece of piss, but that monster ARrrrrggggh!

I can't even get to the ogre when I'm soloing - the crystal gets raped long before then because the grunts can soak up so much more damage than the previous rounds.

Managed to do it, second level complete and it was easy.
you do need to level up and get access to defences that open up later.

I got electricity and fireball towers, the ogre didn't even get past the first stairs.

I play the huntress so only have access to traps. I've only got access to my first two so far...

I'm the Mage (wizard or whatever it's called) so I have access to towers.

There is one that has the spinny sword thingy (technical terms) and thats freeking awesome.

I scratched my character and started it again, but put all level up points into traps rather than stats. That seems to be fairing better. I also worked out how to change the difficulty from medium to easy, so now I'm getting raped on the third level instead of the second lol (the one where wyverns first appear).

I'm going to have one of each character so I can build with whoever in the build phase then repair with my main character during the combat phase.

its just a shame the game doesn't come with a manual of any description.
