At first glance it seems like an excellent starter controller, or something for a teenager where the hobby won't last for long. But at the same time, a jumping off point for someone who is a little more determined to learn and persevere, and for the most part it's usable, sadly it has some serious short-comings that are difficult to overlook.
The first huge negative, is the price. At £199 it's not the cheapest starter controller out there, that it's only £50 less than the venerable DDJ 400, and the DDJ 400 could last for years, where this is specific to one type of DJ'ing
The next point, it's not a capable controller, it has the mid-range EQ missing. You might think it's there if you see it, but it doesn't work in the software. The mid-range knob is actually for the neural mix.
Neural mixing on it seems and appears to work well, why it can't do mid-range EQ is baffling.
These negatives aside, it can do all the things you need it to do, but there are much much better controllers out there and at the same price. That said it's portable, it works with an iPad, and it has neural mix which is great fun if a little washed out.
